The theme of flower offerings was the inspiration for this small piece. It’s the classic story of a man offering a gift of flowers to a woman he is pursuing. The door is a classic, Mexican style seen in everyday homes over the last century, very similar to the door on my own Grandparent’s house in Zacatecas, Mexico. The white depicts the purity of his intentions in the way my father and grandfathers were very direct and intentional about their pursuits of my mother and grandmothers. A sentiment, that is often lost in contemporary American culture. He stands on the source of abundance that provides beauty and life.
