Music

What Do You Mean + Where Are U Now Mashup – Danny Padilla & India Carney Cover

Justin Bieber’s music seems to be getting better, but I tend to like his songs better when they are covered by other people that can give it a little more artistic life.

Sterotypes – Black Violin

Incredible strings and an poignant video addressing issues of racism and prejudice.

This is Living (Acoustic) – Hillsong Young & Free

This song is very catchy in its power pop format, but this acoustic version is surprising good.

Wildest Dreams  – ONE TAKE Cover with Jayesslee

These girls have great voices and do a great cover of this Taylor Swift song. I enjoy her music, and I love covers of her songs.

Only You – Jake James(ft. Kelechi Kanu)

This song has great beats that rival some of the top hip hop artists of today. It’s great to see it applied to some great lyrics.

Remain In Your Love – David Mares (Covered by Matt Maher)

My brother-in-law got married this month, and he released a beautiful new song that he wrote and was sung at his wedding. It has been stuck in my head for a while, and it very good. This is only part of the song recorded on a phone at the wedding.

Double Heart – Penny and Sprrow and Joseph

This local Austin band has become one of my favorites. Great vocals and song.

Visual

Stephen Colbert – Witness

Colbert took over the Late show in CBS this month, and this interview was recorded over the summer. This interview is incredibly entertaining and insightful on who Colbert is as a normal person.

Worth It – Danny Padilla and Mason

This isn’t like my normal featured music, but it’s super creative. These 2 guys ask the other to sing the song in as an impersonator of a specific person or accent. Lots of voice talent.
