25 Advent Songs While We Wait for Christmas

The misunderstood and often lacking music of Advent hold some beautiful value for us as we prepare for the great season of Christmas that begins December 25th. In a commercially focused world, the shopping Christmas season begins the day after Halloween, but it leaves us stressed and distracted instead of preparing our hearts for the coming Lord.

It’s difficult to wait for Christmas when the rest of the world is off on their schedule and celebrates it before the season even starts. There’s several things we can do to truly enter in the spirit of Advent, but for me, one of the easiest is to hold off on Christmas music until the season starts and listen only to Advent music until Christmas Vigil Mass. It’s such a tangible way to savor the sweet sound of the music of Christmas at Mass.
